Hi, I’m Patricia
Wife, mum, coffee lover, and family dispute resolution specialist
In life, we all have a story. Sometimes, it turns out exactly as we’d hoped and planned. Other times, what we’d imagined changes – and we have to pick up the pieces and write a new ending.
When there’s a family involved, this reimagining is particularly heartbreaking and challenging. As a child, I experienced it firsthand – living through the emotional upheaval of my parents’ divorce and the complex reshaping of our family.
As an adult, the concept of family has continued to weave its way through my story both personally and professionally. Over the years, I’ve:
Welcomed a gorgeously mischievous golden retriever into our home.
Fought hard to have a family when faced with fertility issues, eventually welcoming our precious little girl.
Spent a decade working in Family Law – including being admitted to the Victorian Supreme Court as a lawyer.
Moved careers into the IVF sector to offer my own lived experience and help other individuals and couples create a family.
Then, finally found my calling in family dispute resolution – enabling me to support couples and families when they need it most.
Families in Practice
Today, my work honours the fact that families come in many beautiful shapes and sizes – heterosexual, LGBTQI+, human, animal etc! – and they are always evolving. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to supporting them, and that’s exactly why I founded Families in Practice.
As a dedicated family dispute resolution specialist, I offer a unique melting pot of skills, lived experience and empathy to deliver an empowering mediation experience.
Whether navigating through child-related disputes or addressing the complexities of property, a business, assets, and even pets, I believe every aspect of family life deserves attention and resolution.
